What does “Pending Match” mean?
Your account will be in a “Pending Match” status after you’ve created it until it’s matched with your co-parent’s account.
Can I delete my TalkingParents account?
No. To preserve communication records, your account cannot be deleted once it’s created. Our app was designed to create a permanent record of communication, so your account activity will always be stored for future reference. You can always log out of your account or delete our app from your device if you no longer need to use it.
Can I change my account email address after creating an account?
Yes, you can change your email address within your Account Settings.
Can I create multiple TalkingParents accounts with the same email address?
No, you’ll need to use separate accounts and email addresses if you need to communicate with more than one co-parent.
How do I know when my account matches with my co-parent’s?

Can I still match accounts if I don’t know my co-parent’s phone number or email?

Is my contact information shared with my ex?
No, your phone number, email address, and other personal details are never shared with your co-parent—even after you match accounts—unless you choose to share them.
How do I create an account?

How does account security work with TalkingParents?
Your account includes a traditional email and password login, and we offer and recommend multi-factor authentication options for text verification codes and biometrics. We also have many internal security measures in place to protect your information.
Can I use TalkingParents to connect with my kids?
While you can keep in touch with your kids through video calls in the app, TalkingParents is designed to support communication with your co-parent.
Can you add stepparents or grandparents to matched accounts?
No, only two accounts can match at a time, and family members or other third parties can’t be added.
Can I give an attorney access to my TalkingParents account?
We do not currently offer third-party access for legal professionals. In the meantime, we recommend sharing PDF records with your attorney to provide potential evidence and keep them informed.
Can I message someone other than my co-parent with TalkingParents?
No, interactions are limited between you and your co-parent.
How do I search my messages?
You can tap the magnifying glass icon at the top of your messages to search for specific words and phrases.
Can I send pictures and files in a message?
Yes, you can upload up to 5 attachments per message.
How do I know if my co-parent read my message?
Your messages are timestamped with when they’re sent and viewed by your co-parent.
Why do my notifications not include message previews?
To maintain a clear record of exactly when you view incoming messages, notifications will not show previews of what a message includes. The “viewed” timestamp will only display when you open a thread with a new message.
Can I edit or delete a message after I send it?
No, messages cannot be edited or deleted after they’re sent.
How did my ex delete messages in TalkingParents?
No one can edit or delete messages in our app. If it looks like something’s missing, contact our support team for assistance.
How do I download message records from TalkingParents?
You can download or email yourself a PDF record of your activity in Secure Messaging, whether it’s every conversation or a single thread.

You can always edit Writing Assist responses or switch back to your original message at any time. You can also submit feedback on whether a response was helpful or not by giving it a thumbs up or thumbs down.
Does my record show when my co-parent and I use Sentiment Scanner + Writing Assist℠?
No, use of this feature is not notated in Unalterable Records. While this tool can help you communicate better, you’re still responsible for the messages you send.
Why can't I make a call?

Yes, you can include a notarized Business Records Affidavit with your record for an additional $10.
Is my co-parent notified if I download an Unalterable Record?
No, your co-parent will not receive a notification when you download your PDF record or order a printed copy.
Can I use my record for evidence in court?
Yes, Unalterable Records are the longest-standing form of co-parenting documentation that courts in all 50 states accept.
Do I need a subpoena to get my records?
No, you can get records from your account at any time. Downloading PDF records is free if you’re on our Enhanced or Ultimate Plans.
How do I know my record is genuine?
Each Unalterable Record includes a digital signature and a unique 16-digit authentication code that confirms the document is genuine and has not been modified in any way.
How do I share my records with a legal professional or third party?
You can send records to your lawyer from within your account. Either input their email address to send it directly to them from TalkingParents, or send it to yourself and forward it to them.
How long does it take for printed records to ship?
It can take up to two business days for printed records to ship after you order them.
